Happy Valentine's Day!

Tonight Dustin and I will be finishing the last of our Valentine's Day celebrations as soon as he gets home from work. But because Valentine's Day is on a Monday this year (which means a long day's work for Dustin) I decided to surprise Dustin with a breakfast in bed on Saturday morning.

I made heart shaped pancakes with homemade syrup, and homemade heart shaped biscuits (inspired by this blogger) with gravy. It was a hit!

After the breakfast and the Phoenix Farmer's Market, we played a little tennis in the sketchiest part of town. If you don't follow my tweets, you wouldn't know that during the hour-ish we were playing tennis, Dustin hit a tennis ball over the fence and it definitely landed in a sleeping homeless man's legs. And Dustin wasn't fazed and picked it up anyway? We were totally in a homeless park and had to fix the tennis net before we could even start playing. And that is why we love living in downtown Phoenix!
(here is Dustin trying to fix the tennis net pre-game)

I will blog about this years Valentine's Day after it happens, but until then you can read about our Valentine past here and here! Until then, go enjoy a few heart shaped cookies, it's Valentine's Day!

  2. So cute and romantic. Those biscuits totally looked like baked eggs for a minute. If you ever wanna do that just stir 5 eggs together (no milk, that makes them stick) with a handful of cheese, we add cooked broccoli (you could add some chopped bacon or whatever), salt and pepper, pour in well oiled muffin tins 1/2 full, bake for 25 minutes in a 350 degree oven. They puff up and they are amazing. Just thought I'd share something MY hubby loves.
