He liked it so he (finally) put a ring on it!

One year of dating and 46 diamonds later, I'm engaged! Dustin decided to make me the "the luckiest woman on Earth" last night by asking me to marry him. It's a true Christmas miracle!

You see...I had no idea it was coming, because Dustin had been playin' me for months now! He had me under the impression that money was an issue, and a ring would not be bought quite yet. You can't argue with that! Right? Right. But in reality, money was never an issue, and he bought a ring without me knowing anything at all. I was completely clueless to all of this. Last night he pulled a quick one on me and gave me the surprise of my lifetime when suddenly he was on one knee with the ring in his hand. I've been played. So clueless!

So last night Dustin was pretty insistent about going on an "alone date" with me. We went to a fancy schmancy restaurant in Salt Lake. Italian food of course, food of the romantics! I didn't really think anything of it. He just seemed like he really wanted to go, so I went with it without really questioning anything.

Anyway, we ate there, and then took off to go to the Madeleine Cathedral in Salt Lake to see The Madeleine School Choir sing Christmas music. The place is amazing, the singing was outrageously beautiful!

After the choir was over, we took the quick walk back to Dustin's car which we had parked North of the Salt Lake Temple, so when we were walking from the cathedral, we saw a pretty view of the temple all lit up from a distance. It was freezing out so we didn't stay outside too long.

We went back to his car and he wanted to sit in the back and talk for a few minutes. Again, not something we normally do but for some reason I really don't think twice. We talk, and he tells me all the sweet things, the kind of things you'd want to hear before someone asks you to marry them. We talk for a while, and still, I'm thinking nothing at this point. I'm so convinced he doesn't have the ring that I honestly did not think that he would be asking me. We finish talking and get out of the car, he gets out on the passengers side in order to open my door for me and drops to one knee. I think all I could say was: "Are you KIDDING ME?!?!" And then after he asked me I said "of course!" to make up for my lack of eloquence in such a special moment. And then we were engaged!

Let me just say this: It takes special skills to handle that boy (enough said - you and I both know what I am talking about), and you are masterful! Love, cheer and blessings to you both! xoxo

  14. 46 diamonds later? What the?! You mean 48!! Don't rob me of my manhood by suggesting I would purchase my woman a piece of jewelry with anything less than 48 diamonds! Shawty better count again.
And whether or not "it takes special skills to handle [this] boy," (thanks for the endorsement, Mom) I must admit that there's NO ONE on this earth that I'd rather have make that attempt. Only you. I love you! Congrats to us!

  16. my fav part about this story is that you included that you were sitting in the backseat of the car, yeah girl! I would say that I got engaged in the backseat because80% of my "yes" came from being tired of the backseat of the car. know what i mean guys.
