Palmyra, New York

After our days in the city, our family headed to upstate New York to a place called Palmyra. There we visited a few sights important mormon history sights like: Hill Cumorah, the Susquehanna River, the Sacred Grove, Peter Whitmer's log home (where the lds church was organized), and Joseph Smith's old stomping grounds. I had been to these places once before, but was extra excited to go this time because this time I actually studied up on the sights we were going to be seeing. It was fascinating. And freezing.

Grandma Allen, Jesus, and I at the Hill Cumorah Visitors Center:

The white thing behind us hiding in the trees is a temple:

My padre in the Sacred Grove:

I think this was Peter Whitmer's log cabin:

And my cousin Luke, who is awesome, and wants to be a comedian when he grows up. Love that kid!

Next up, Niagara Falls, which happened to be way cooler in my mind than it was in person. But don't get me wrong, it was still pretty cool.

  1. when we went to palmyra it was in december and -4 degrees. the sacred grove was covered in snow and ice and it was too cold to even walk through it... not quite the experience i was imagining!
